The American Traveler
The Good, The Bad, and The Odd: The Truth About Traveling The World as an American
American travelers have been trotting across the globe for centuries. From first generation Americans traveling back to visit relatives in a foreign country, to sixth generation Americans venturing out of their hometown for the first time; Americans love to travel. The rest of the world has taken notice and it's not always a good thing. Some people welcome Americans with open arms, while others take every opportunity to avoid them, and if possible, take advantage of them. This blog is my attempt to highlight some of the good, bad and ugly things that contribute to the world's view of "The American Traveler."

Hopefully we can all learn from each other and become better citizens of the world, able to visit distant lands and immerse ourselves in new cultures without disrupting the lives of the local population and giving other Americans a bad name.

If you have any stories to share about your travel experiences as an American, or if you're a local of a popular tourist destination, we would love to hear from you. Whether it's positive or negative, we welcome all stories and opinions. All that we ask is that you also keep and open mind and be willing to help others understand how to be better guests when visiting other countries.
